Data Analyst

The Data Analyst role is in our Raleigh, NC office and supports the commercial team with analysis and reporting, and partners with business leaders to solve critical data challenges. The Data Analyst must be enthusiastic about working with data, get a sense of accomplishment from providing business leaders with reporting and analysis to make strategic decisions and extremely detail oriented. The Data Analyst plays multiple roles, recommends and utilizes new technologies, works directly with business stakeholders, and has a major influence on the business.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science or related quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, etc.
  • Experience working with business teams to understand and define problems for analysis; experience dealing with ambiguous business problems and translating them into feasible analytic exercises to provide answers.
  • Experience with analytical techniques used for data analysis, exploration, and forecasting.
  • Experience using visualization techniques for presenting data and analysis.
  • Experience using Python or another programming language to move and parse data sets.
  • Experience building dashboards and reports using Tableau or other BI tools.
  • At least 3 years of experience working in an analytical/research environment
  • At least 3 years of experience writing SQL for data analysis including collecting and assembling data, cleansing and formatting, and validation of results.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in life sciences; particularly pharmaceutical industry
  • Familiarity with common data processing libraries in Python, such as Pandas and NumPy.
  • Experience writing VBA scripts and/or building Data Models in PowerPivot.
  • Experience using PowerPoint to create impactful data messaging
  • Knowledge of various data source such as Xponent, APLD, DDD, HCOS (from IMS), Specialty Data, Calls, Sample, Claims, etc.
