Vice President, Legal Counsel

The Vice President, Legal Counsel will provide legal advice and support of RedHill’s products, including pipeline, commercial and Medical Affairs functions. Supported teams include Regulatory, Research and Development, Supply Chain, Quality, Brand Sales and Marketing, Market Access, commercial strategic and operational functions, and corporate functions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Juris Doctor, with bar admission and ability to practice in any state. 5+ years of relevant experience, a substantial portion of which includes in-house experience at a pharmaceutical company or law firm with pharmaceutical clients and substantial client contact and varied responsibility. Experience with trademark & brand products preferred. Travel of up to 10% may be required. 

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide legal direction on FDA promotional matters, healthcare fraud and abuse laws, product liability, antitrust, privacy and other laws impacting the commercialization of biotech products.

Counsel on appropriate relationships with healthcare professionals, patients, managed care entities, academic institutions, and government entities.

Support the contracting function in the United States. Draft, review, negotiate and interpret a wide range of commercial, Regulatory and Development related agreements, master service, and consulting agreements, licensing and research collaborations, and other strategic alliances for Quality Assurance, drug development, clinical manufacture, Supply Chain, and Market Access as it relates to Government and payer drug rebate agreements as well as Affordability programs (e.g., Savings Card, Patient Assistance Program).

Advise on business strategies, tactical plan development and implementation, and other business issues, including development of legal assessments and solutions-oriented risk mitigation strategies.

Proactively inform business clients of important legal, enforcement and other industry developments; actively respond to inquiries and requests for advice.

Provide legal support to outside counsel on designated practice areas/business clients; consult with outside counsel on discrete issues.

Collaborate across global Legal Department as necessary to support business clients/practice area.

Compliance Advisor:

Assists and advises Compliance Team with internal compliance issues. 

Risk Management:

Advises Executive Management regarding risk mitigation pertaining to business and marketing activities, litigation matters, and special projects/events. Collaborates with commercial, corporate communications and the Medical Affairs teams regarding communications with customers and media as it pertains to existing or potential litigation and the associated risk to the business. 

Product Promotional Review:

Serves as the legal representative on promotional review committee for devices or other products, as requested by the VP, Compliance Officer.
