~In loving memory - Prof. Thomas Borody, MD

Professor Thomas Borody, MD, RedHill’s Advisory Board member and dear friend passed away on October 6th, 2025, at the age of 75. Founder of the Centre for Digestive Diseases in Sydney, Australia, Prof. Borody was never afraid to challenge convention with bravery and thoughtfulness, and leaves a significant legacy in medical advancement and drug development, spearheading research and therapies for multiple conditions and, in doing so, positively impacting the lives of thousands of people. He was considered to be the first physician to successfully formulate the triple therapy that would later become the gold standard for treating peptic ulcer disease caused by Helicobacter pylori (H. Pylori) infection, and can be credited with key discoveries that form the basis of a potential game-changing therapy for Crohn’s disease. Dedicated to his patients, Prof. Borody was a greatly valued and respected long-standing member of RedHill’s Scientific Advisory Board and the broader RedHill family. We will be eternally grateful for his outstanding contribution and he will be greatly missed.
